and we're STILL debating healthcare...
the touted "death panels"? yep. they're in there. Federally funded abortion? Oh yes, it's in there.
Medical care for illegal aliens? yep. ITS IN THERE.
It passed in the house by 5 votes.
I have a few questions to ask.
- Is it worth taking someone's freedom. Is it worth putting them in jail and destroying their lives? Folks, when you're put in jail, you no longer have a job, if you have children the government takes them too. your home? if you're renting, that's gone..you won't have money to pay the bills and pay court costs...not without that job. If you own it? how are you going to pay for it without a job? how will you get a job with a criminal record?
Is it worth that because someone doesn't have health insurance that some federal man says they need to have?
-What will you do when a panel of people decide that your loved ones aren't worth treatment?
Who will you turn to for a second opinion when its YOUR spouse that they deem not worth the effort to care for?
-What will you do when they take your children? It's not a stretch to see it happening. If you don't have "the proper health care" then of course you're not responsible enough to care for children...we'll just take your children until you comply.
Don't tell me it won't happen either.
You can say "it's not MY family", "that won't happen to me" but I say that ever man and woman in the U.S. will be everyman, the day this bill passes into law.
as for myself? I'm waiting for them to come try and Jail me for it.
if I survive that, I'm going to pay a visit to the folks who crafted and passed this bill...and I'm not going to be civil either.

My wife once described it as childlike, with a wonderous generosity and love towards my friends and loved ones..who are one and the same...and an incredible rage and fury against those I deem enemy.
still, this night I think of my friends. Those who are with me and those who aren't.

Seeing things for what they are

Now, when Pres. Obama comes to speak to the midshipmen at the Naval academy, Swords are not allowed as part of the dress Uniform.
Ladies and gentlemen, this man is a socialist. Moreso, he's a coward who fears his own countrymen. Why? probably because he doesn't see you and I as his countrymen but as his subjects.
I submit that he's nothing more than what he came from. A family of Kenyan Muslims that murdered folks when those people resisted their commands.
Whats more I'm reasonably sure that he's going to destroy the freedoms we have in this country IF WE DO NOT SPEAK OUT!

A Memo to William Linde
Mr. Linde, I will submit that the PHILOSOPHY of war very much different than the execution of warfare in fact. While I'm not that familiar with Boyd, I doubt very seriously that he can add very much more to the philosophy of war than Von Clauswitz,Sun TZU or any of another half dozen authors on the subject who had vastly more experience in that area as well as the accomplishments to show for it, No disrespect to the fine General intended.
I will of course, be happy to read his work, yet that isn't what startled me. What startled me is the idea of throttling our soldiers' ability to protect themselves and giving the enemy a known area in which to hide and conduct their operations.

the idea that we must (and I will paste this): apply Boyd’s insight about the three levels of war not only to the question of torture but to everything we do in places like Iraq and Afghanistan. At present, we are sacrificing the moral level to the physical in lots of ways, which is to say we are defeating ourselves. A good start would be a presidential order forbidding air strikes on populated areas and demanding they be restricted elsewhere to situations where our troops would otherwise be overrun.
On todays' battlefield, The American forces have been more than careful to keep civilian casualties to their absolute minimum. We have weapons that can track and
hit within a 1 meter grid! Yet you would tie troops hands in order to see them fail because some of the actions of warfare upset your "sensibilities".
IF their is one lesson that we should have learned from Viet Nam it is that politicians and philosophers are just that,politicians and philosophers.
The idea that morals are required to wage war is about as idiotic as the idea of a president actually dictating tactics to a general.
If this were the case then Stalin and 30 other empire builders would have failed.
War is not for philosophers nor does it require morals to succeed. It's a ugly thing and requires that a man suspend the civility that he's learned since childhood and kill other humans. Why do you think many of the great writers who have seen it first hand speak of it as one of the greatest evils?
The morals that we as Americans impose on ourselves come from our society and our wish for justice for all folks, regardless of their background.
Understand this:Air power is the ONE thing that troops on the ground can count on to win a fight that would otherwise mean their death.
The idea that YOU should dictate the terms of a soldiers' warfare to him is laughable and is the height of folly.
I submit that if you want to find some way to erase the perceived lack of morals for this war, look to the people who instituted it. Remember them? they flew an airliner full of hostages into a building a few years ago. They infiltrated a town in Afghanistan and slaughtered the inhabitants in order to draw the Americans into a fight there.
They blew up a subway train full of folks in London awhile back also. Look to the people who instituted the detention facility in Gitmo. Hold them accountable but do not ensure the deaths of our soldiers. We sent them to do a job, one that you're not willing or are too old to do. To tie their hands and ensure their deaths because you feel guilt over the actions of a few political hacks is just as wrong.

Instead, we see this wording: He supports full civil unions and federal rights for LGBT couples and opposes a constitutional ban on same-sex marriage.
I don't think that a "civil union" is the same as a marriage...

“From my own experience visiting the troops in the Middle East, I can tell you this though,” Feherty wrote toward the end of his column. “Despite how the conflict has been portrayed by our glorious media, if you gave any U.S. soldier a gun with two bullets in it, and he found himself in an elevator with Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Osama bin Laden, there’s a good chance that Nancy Pelosi would get shot twice, and Harry Reid and bin Laden would be strangled to death.”
That’s what used to happen to turncoats isn’t it? Oh well, maybe I’ll get to meet Feherty when we get sent to the same FEMA camp.

The FRENCH??? who would have figured!!
But as Somali pirates sped toward the vessel sailing near the Seychelles Islands on Sunday, they were horrified to see two boats and a helicopter set off from their target and launch their own counter-attack.
They had failed to spot iin the dazzling sun, that the "merchant ship" they thought they were intercepting was actually a French naval ship bristling with cannons, radar technology and armed commandos.
When the three pirate boats were spotted heading toward them the frigate Nivose, one of the ships patrolling the region as part of the European Union anti-piracy mission Atalanta, headed into the sun to camouflage its true identity before turning to confront its attackers.
When the boats were close enough, Lt. Commander Jean-Marc le Quilliec sent his commandos out on outboards, with a helicopter to provide air support.
The helicopter fired two warning shots to stop the three boats from fleeing and within minutes the 11 pirates had surrendered.
Two of the attack boats were small skiffs which the pirates used as attack vessels and the third was a 30-foot mothership, used to transport supplies such as petrol, water and food.
Only one pirate was left on board the mother ship which had nothing on board except fuel and potates, according to Lt. Commander le Quilliec.
"He apparently thought the pirates had hijacked us," he said.

Bryan...now you're talking about my drugs of choice...and I love your combo. But those days are long gone for me...about 22 years long gone. I might as well drink battery acid, my sanity would stay in tact a bit longer. A&W Rootbeer is about it for me...but I can hold my own.
This deal with the GOP...its all but laughable. To kind of repeat one of my postings this morning in RR...I just don't give a rat's ass about the health and well being of any party.
To me the GOP or even the Dem party's survival is of little interest to me.
Specter's switch...so what? No biggie.
As I've said before...
"When I look at Washington's political population and the overall system in which they go about their daily business...it's sort of like looking at a pond that has grey ducks, brown ducks, blue-green ducks...and so-forth. In other words, a duck is a duck is a duck.
And if it's not apparent that Specter is just another Duck among all types of Ducks...then somebody has a critical thinking problem.
What we've been seeing for eons is a group of brown ducks ganging up on a group of...say blue-green ducks to maintain control over the resources in the pond. (Or vise-versa)
In a few years the blue-green ducks will see a new flock of blue-greens come to the pond...and they'll have the numbers to gang up on the brown ducks. (Or vise-versa)
The resources in the pond seem to continue to renew and/or even grow to make sure the ducks are well fed.
What I'd like to see added to the pond is a few alligators."

Arlen Specter
Specter has been a RHINO for a long long time now..so I say to Mr. Specter this: "adios biotch! I didn't like you no ways!"
Nancy Pelosi is all agog with excitement because now the Democrats have a filibuster proof majority.
I say to her this: "you've had that for the last 2 years and look where it's gotten us."
Now the government is truly yours, democrats. After complaining about partisan behavior for so long and blaming all the mistakes on Republicans you can now say that you own it. I don't want to hear "it'll take too long to fix it"...that's what others have said and as we all know you have only as long to fix the problems as you have the public's confidence. I suggest you become more proactive because your boy Obama's popularity is dropping like a meteor.
Oh but wait! There's more! We haven't even seen the tax increases that Obama has advocated. We haven't even seen the increases that Cap and trade will bring..and you know that's coming now that the Democrats have no reason at all to compromise. I haven't even started thinking about the destruction that socialized medicine is going to wreak. *sigh*
I'll give it a year more. Even with the recession deepening, I figure the American people as a whole won't complain until they feel the lash of government taxes.
Good luck Pelosi and Specter. I intend to laugh heartily and cheer when you're run out of Congress on a rail...or, if we're lucky, run over by a bus.
For those of you who say "bad show old man! one should never wish ill of your political enemies". I say not so! You're telling me to think happy thoughts while their policies strip the food from my families' table and reduce me to penury. I take that personally.
And remember..I'm a veteran so you know I'm on a watch list..along with the rest of you who served...so "if this be treason, then make the most of it!"

In watching the video from the President’s power play in NYC yesterday, I was struck by the motivation for the display of power. Nothing this administration does is an honest mistake. This is why President Hussein is not allowed to speak without Soros running his teleprompter.
As Cuffy described it, he was torturing 9/11 victims. My first thought was that this bastard decided to remind the sheep who elected him who really sits in the seat of power and that they better fall in line and get with the program, or else. And, as Cranky so aptly put it, this panicking NYC population has voted for the very people who are making them far less safe, so it’s difficult to feel any sympathy for their plight.
It’s not enough for President Narcissist to run the country like his own third-world banana republic (which he learned from his heroes, Castro, Chavez, Odinga, Marx, Mussolini, et al), he has to remind the sheep and shysters in the NY financial sector that he’s the boss and that little Tax Cheat Timmy is flying a 747 around their precious infrastructure.
For the record, NYC sheep, the proper response when Air Force One flies by is to get out your Hope and Change Prayer Rug™ (you’ll find one in your government-issued briefcase), get on your knees and bow to the only “god” Obama knows - himself. Don’t make him spend more of your money on another photo op to remind you of his greatness.

While this may seem a bit far fetched and radical by many conservative Americans and will probably be condemned by the left, there are a surprising number of average, ordinary Americans on both sides of the political spectrum and many in between, who find this refreshing and eagerly seek some sort of resolve for the crisis we're in.
here exists, in Snohomish County, Washington, a man by the name of Stephen Pidgeon. Mr Pidgeon is an attorney and the attorney of record in the cause of Broe v Reed, an action dismissed by the Washington State Supreme Court as “moot” on January 9, 2009, carefully side-stepping the merits of the case brought by Broe, et al. Nothing new or surprising there. Washington State Supreme Court justices are no more or less corrupt than their equals in the United States Supreme Court. Should we be surprised that they would be too cowardly to take on AKA and the mighty Chicago machine that stands behind him?
And Obama doesn't understand why we're buying guns??

Detroit has more registered voters than it has residents
Gee - no kidding. I'm shocked. Shocked I say! Well - in actuality - no. No I'm not. This is the modus operindi in Democrat hegemonies. People that don't exist, the dead, and family pets overwhelmingly vote Democrat you know! From the freep this morning is this headline: No-confidence vote on voter rolls. The only shocking part of the article is that it is written by one very liberal Rochelle Riley. In any case, some snippets:
Detroit election officials confirmed Monday what an analysis of census and population records shows: The city has more registered voters than it has residents over the voting age of 18.
He estimates that Detroit's population is about 853,000, which includes 603,000 people over 18 -- 30,000 fewer than the city reported as its total of registered voters.
"Even if you had 100% voter registration, which we know we don't have, you could not have numbers that high," he said. "Nationally, 67.6% of Americans are registered to vote. For African Americans, it's 60.9%."
Metzger estimates that Detroit's voter registration is closer to 422,000.
And you know what that means, don't you? Lt. Gov. John Cherry just picked up more than 200,000 votes for 2010! Woohoo! How about them apples? If they can just find more non-voter voters, he'll be a shoe-in! (and we'll be screwed)
Riley is correct that the problem can be traced back to the 1993 National Voter Registration Act, which took effect in 1995, (passed by a Democrat Congress and signed by Democrat Bill Clinton)and requires local officials to wait two federal election cycles before purging their voter rolls. Funny how this seems to only benefit one party...

The 4ft long monster, named Barry, had launched a sustained attack on the reef in a display tank at Newquay's Blue Reef Aquarium over recent months.
Workers at the Cornwall-based attraction had been left scratching their heads as to why the coral had been left devastated and - in some cases - cut in half.

Democratic leadership is great at sabotaging our countries' economy but ask them to build something and it's like you're talking to a stump.

I'm so mad...
I have one thing to say to all you retards that voted for Obama..
EAT IT BITCHES!!! you asked for it...eat every feather of crow. some of you may say "he's gonna take care of us" because you're black and he's ...sort of black.
let me tell you..he doesn't care about you. not ONE of you. he cares about power and money. since many of the folks that voted for him don't have either of those...they'll get left by the wayside.
I DO feel bad though..after he's finished with this country, theres' little hope that a black person will ever hold that office again.
way to go Obama! you've just set race relations back another 100 years.
oh..and your congressmen? they're exempt..it seems it's too much trouble for them to deal with the carbon credits.

AURORA - A local school district has suspended a member of the Young Marines youth leadership group after students saw drill props in her vehicle.

Marie Morrow, a 17-year-old senior at Cherokee Trail High School in Aurora, is serving a 10-day suspension. Her punishment could be extended at an expulsion hearing later this month.
Morrow is a student leader in the Douglas County Young Marines, a group dedicated to teaching leadership and life skills.
Cherry Creek Schools suspended Morrow after other students reported seeing guns inside her SUV, which was parked outside school while she was in class.
The school also called police, who seized the three drill team guns made of wood, plastic and duct tape. Police told Morrow to claim them in time for her after-school drill practice off-campus.
School administrators, however, were less understanding. The guns were declared "authentic representations of genuine weapons," triggering a mandatory expulsion statute in state law.
"I have never been in trouble at all," said Morrow, who is planning to attend the United States Merchant Marine Academy. "I hadn't imagined in a million years that anything like this would have happened."
Chris Proctor, commanding officer of the Douglas County Young Marines, was rebuffed in his attempt to explain the props to school leaders.
"There's no mistaking that these are not real rifles," said Proctor. "I think somewhere along the line, logic has to take over and they have to be able to make exceptions to the rules."
"Marie is one of the best kids that you could ever imagine," he said.
"I could see where the school could be freaked out about it," said Morrow. "But I think there should be some leeway with the law based on situations and realize this is just an honest mistake."
"The law doesn't make any distinction between a genuine weapon and a facsimile," said Cherry Creek Schools spokeswoman Tustin Amole.
Amole says federal and state laws mandate expulsion, and that school districts only have discretion to determine the length of that expulsion.
Asked who had the discretion to deem the props "dangerous weapons," Amole said school administrators and police made the decision based on state law that defines a "dangerous weapon" as "a firearm, whether loaded or unloaded, or a firearm facsimile that could reasonably be mistaken for an actual firearm."
Amole said the props in Morrow's vehicle caused concern among students and administrators who made an "assumption" that the weapons appeared "genuine."
Morrow's mother grew emotional while saying she hoped her daughter would continue her volunteer and service work despite the incident.
"I just don't want it to affect her view on the world, (make her believe) that people who do the right thing don't come out on top," said her mother, Jennifer McGrew. "I've always kind of really looked up to my daughter for having a mind of her own and going places that I never even dreamed."
A hearing officer could recommend Morrow be allowed back in school after her 10-day suspension or could expel her for as much as the rest of her senior year. The final decision belongs to the Cherry Creek Schools superintendent.
Morrow, who has already secured the necessary recommendation from a member of Congress to attend the Merchant Marine Academy, has been told an expulsion would not derail her eventual acceptance to the Academy.
"As long as I can get my diploma, I guess everything else will work itself out," said Morrow, who explained she's trying to focus on her planned career of service. "It's not going to be the end of the world."
When will we stop giving in to stupidity and Political correctness? When will we as a people start judging other people by their individual acts and intents?
This isn't justice..this is a bunch of retards that can't be trusted to wipe their own noses..much less teach children, making a decision blindly based on what someone ELSE wrote on a piece of paper.

I have to hand it to BO-44, his "spend wisely" rhetoric sounds great, but is unpersuasive and not applied to the present plan. Likewise, the only thing that historians can agree upon about Roosevelt is that his fireside chats were comforting while they distracted from the sub-rosa goal of turning the country towards socialism.
So, the conditions precedent to a re-release of the original horror from the '30s would be:
- Wage/price controls,
- To see the Supreme Court throw out the "Stimulus Bill" as unconstitutional, as was Roosevelt's National Recovery Administration, and
- Have Obama threaten to pack the Supreme Court, though it doesn't appear as if threats will be required this time.
Friends, when the title of the movie starts with "Halloween ..." or "Friday the ...", we don't need to see the picture to know what is in it or how it ends. As far as making government bigger, well we've seen that movie before. No thank you

A little depression era cheer!
this is an Iver Johnson Pony. Its a nickle plated imitation of a Colt Mustang.
One of the good things about both of these models is that they operate on recoil, not blowback.
this means that they will have a higher muzzle velocity. This is a good thing in a .380 calilber pistol, where penetration is concerned.
This particular piece was bought from a very nice fella who in turn bought it in 1978, at a Western Auto. He took it home and fired a couple of rounds through it, cleaned it and put it in his safe until last year. My wife has fired one magazine through it...and my brother did also (it was supposed to be HIS gun but my wife preempted him.) to see what he didn't get to buy because of a womans' perogative. so all in all its had 14 rounds through it. it shoots flawlessly and is pretty!

It was bound to happen sometime...
I received a phone call last week from my detailer (a temp company that hires tower hands) who told me that I was terminated.
huh?
"if you don't mind me asking, why was I terminated?"
"you're not working hard enough, we haven't gotten good reports from your work"
Now folks, this work IS hard work...but I know it. I've been doing it for almost 9 years now.
I asked one of the other old timers and he said that the manager of the tower side has been mad with me since I told them that I couldn't handle the pace of doing 1 tower a night, with only myself and another climber.
no allowances for weather, no allowances for scope of work. nothing like that.
I know for a fact that they allowed 40 hours per man (a 4 man crew) to do these towers...so we had the time.
SO...after a year of 70-90 hour work weeks, I have suddenly been found lacking.
*sigh* on top of that, the pickings for tower work has suddenly gotten very lean...
hey Obama...I'm about to be in your soup line for a little while...and don't give me that "it's not mine" line..
the Democrats have, in my opinion, purposely sabotaged the Economy and the United states so that they could "fix it" with their policies and with their own man.
I'll let you folks know how it goes and when I'm a breadwinner again.
Its a good thing my wife decided to come off the road and get a job working at the hospital! otherwise we'd be out of luck, out of money and out of doors....

I managed to pick up a very nice, light weight 5 shot .38 the other day.
what can I say? it shoots beautifully, is very concealable and feels great in my hand...
